This website, piercingpoints.com, is the personal website of Christian Pierce, based in Switzerland. For any privacy-related questions or requests, contact me through the form on the Contact page or via LinkedIn.
Contact form. If you use the contact form, I receive the name, email address, and message you provide. This data is processed by Netlify (see below) and used solely to read and respond to your message. It is not used for marketing, not added to any mailing list, and not shared with anyone else. Messages are retained only as long as needed to handle the correspondence.
Server logs. Like virtually every website, the hosting infrastructure automatically processes technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested. This happens for security and delivery of the site and is controlled by the hosting provider. I do not use this data to identify visitors.
Nothing else. This site sets no cookies, runs no analytics, shows no advertising, and embeds no social media trackers. Fonts and all other assets are served directly from this website, so viewing these pages sends no data to third-party font or content networks.
This site is hosted by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. Netlify processes technical connection data and contact form submissions on my behalf. Because Netlify is a U.S. company, data may be processed in the United States. Netlify participates in recognized data transfer frameworks; details are in Netlify's privacy policy.
Where the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, processing of contact form data is based on your consent and on legitimate interest in responding to messages you send me (Art. 6(1)(a) and (f) GDPR). Technical server data is processed on the basis of legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
You have the right to request information about the personal data I hold about you, and to request its correction or deletion. If the GDPR applies to you, you additionally have rights to restriction of processing, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact me through the channels above.
This site links to external services such as LinkedIn, Medium, jukeido.com, and the websites of academic institutions. Once you follow such a link, the privacy policy of the respective operator applies. I have no control over data processing on external sites.
